LUSH Cosmetics~ Cosmetic Warrior Review

So as you guys can tell from the title I have recently tested out Lush Cosmetics face mask Cosmetic Warrior. First off, the name…. it kinda bothers me because is supposed to have good properties for acne problems and cosmetics aren’t the only causes of acne. The name aside the mask needs to be refrigerated after opened. This is why you can’t purchase this product online but only in store.

The thickness of the product is amazing and because it’s been refrigerated, it feels like it warms to your skin when applied. I know, I know…. we all have our favorites that we like and get used to because they work the first time, especially when it comes to acne prone skin. But taking a chance on this mask is great!

Let’s break this down some of these ingredients: Garlic is a big component in this mask and helps to reduce red spots and clear the complexion. The grapes are good for cleansing and helps prevent bacteria from getting into the pores. The egg whites and honey are good for moisturizing and smoothing out the skin. Kaolin cleans and exfoliates the skin. These are the main ingredients that make Cosmetic Warrior the acne and skin problem fighting mask it is.

I have used tis mask for only 3 days and already I am starting to see a change in my skin and my acne. I will be adding this to my routine soon incorporating other Lush Products. Allowing Your Skin To Breathe

For starters lets get something clear- it is impossible for your skin to literally breathe. Skin breathing is usually in reference to your pores being open or closed. In reality the third layer of your skin gets its oxygen from your blood supply and the amount of oxygen it gets from that is determined by what foods and liquids you put in your body. The top layer of the skin is protective of the lower levels and keeps oil and dirt as well as the sun from causing severe damage.

Allow your skin to take a break and try going at least two days a week without makeup (whether this is two days during your work week or on the two days you have off/a weekend). Even if you try going at least one day without any cleansing, scrubs, moisturizers, etc. just to give the skin a break and allow for whatever products you use on your skin to continue to work because your skin won’t get very used to it.

Make sure you hydrate! Water is the best medicine for the skin and people are completely unaware! Your body NEEDS water every day, no question. The more water you drink the better your skin will get overtime. There are nutrients your body needs from water and if you are not to keen on drinking plain water, add some of these fruits to it to give it a little flavor. Not only will you be giving your taste buds something different but the vitamins and properties of these fruits can help your body and your skin breath as well!

Little Tip for Clearer Skin Overtime: some mornings I heat up a mug of water and add one to three slices of lemon to it. If I did this every morning I would probably have clearer skin than I do. But doing this every morning will not only eventually give you clear skin but every day your metabolism will get a boost and work at a little bit of a faster pace for you for the rest of the day!

How Stress Takes A Toll On Your Skin

Many people take on so much in their lives. Juggling the daily responsibilities plus work or school is not easy. And for some of us (myself included) we get into our twenties and still have acne or other skin related issues. Your skin is the largest organ on your body and as important as your daily commitments are, your self care is just as important! I have tried so many face cleansers and masks to try to fix the issues my skin faces and I’m still trying.

Here are four effects of Stress:

  1. Dark Under Eye Circles: most people don’t think of dark circles as a problem but in fact they are. Dark circles, and puffy eyes included, are caused by lack of sleep. Not getting your eight hours of sleep and staying awake for long hours instead can cause fluid build up from your tear ducts which is how these dark circles happen. And for stomach sleepers, your dark circles will be worse because of gravity.
  2. Dry Skin: As I’ve said in a previous post, “Dry skin? NO THANK YOU!”Being stressed can cause dry skin because your not drinking enough water. Water is the body’s natural medicine! Keeping yourself hydrated is important and if you are stress, chances are you are substituting water for coffee or soda which is actually dehydrating your body. START DRINKING WATER MORE! When your stressed this task may not be easy to remember but your body will thank you for it later down the line.
  3. Acne: Stress can cause acne or even eczema to happen. When your stressed your body releases more cortisol in the body which can throw off your hormones and cause it to show up more in the form of acne. Stress can also make your body to get confused between what bacteria is good for your body and which isn’t which can also cause acne.
  4. Fine Lines: not everyone needs to worry about this one but if you feel you do than be aware of the facial expressions you use. That sound weird but if you are constantly furrowing your brow in concentration or pursing your lips, over time the lines in those areas will become more prominent.

There are other reasons stress can affect someone and everyone is different. I know that I sometimes forget that as long as I take care of myself mentally, emotionally, and physically I can try to avoid this. But with our daily lives, it’s sometimes not so easy.
