3 MONTH INTO MY 2ND YEAR OF MY HAIR JOURNEY! This process has been so long! and as crazy as this sounds… I’m thinking I might go into a year three, depending on what my hair looks like in December. Let’s talk about this month….
I have continued using The Innate Life Rose Hair Elixir from last month. I am still as obsessed with this product as I was when I started. I have also continued using the Cocoa Locks from last month, although I have’t been using it as religiously (warm climates have made me want to drink it a little less).
This month I tried the Somerfield Hair Mask. This mask is great because it gives my hair a hydrating boost and they give you the option of adding a protein boost. Protein boosts are great because they help with the hair growth process. I also like that this hair mask comes in a cap form. So all you have to do is make sure you get all your hair inside he cap and seal it around your head. In twenty minutes you take it off and rinse it out!
Another thing I have noticed this past month was from when I got my hair trimmed this month. Yes…. I got my hair trimmed. But it had been eight months since my last trim and my hair needed it. During this process I also learned that all the strands of my hair do not grow at the same rate, which gives me an uneven grow out. Will this make me trim my hair more in this process? No! But it’s good to know. But my hair looks and feels healthier than before and I am happy I gave it some love and took care of the dead ends!
I have learned a few tricks for this journey that most people wouldn’t probably find important but if you are growing out your hair, I think you should:
- Take care of your hair. Find a hair regime that you can stick with and DO IT! Your hair will thank you later.
- only use the products that are necessary. Putting un-needed things in your hair damages it and slows your process, so don’t use them.
- embrace your natural look. Stop using heat tools and dying your hair. People have told me they get so frustrated because they want their hair to grow and it won’t. Heat tools and hair dye are usually the reasons why.
- PATIENCE. This is KEY. I know for some of us (myself included) this is very hard because we want to see results NOW or TOMORROW! But having patience with it will help you see the little changes as it grows over time.
I hope these things helped! See you next month for another update!
