Dry Skin? No Thank You!

Taking good care of your skin is so important! But I also think that it is one of the things we forget about a little too often. I had the awful issue a few months ago where I was getting dry spots. I thought this was odd because I washed my skin regularly. What I soon noticed is that my skin changes with the season. Every time I got dry spots was usually around fall and winter time. Oily skin happened around the warmer months for me. I also noticed that I never paid much attention to what my skin needed. When I got one of my tattoos done I was consistently putting moisturizing lotion on it so that it would heal more gracefully.

What I didn’t consider was that it’s great to moisturize your skin at least two to three times a week. For some this task may seem impossible because of your schedules. BUT if you take five minutes after a shower and read a book or watch a show while moisturizing your skin, than its easier to manage. Pick your 2-3 times a week and on that day pick one part of your body to moisturize.

I’ve come to realize that thick lotions are not my favorite, because I feel like it clogs my pores. Lighter lotions are great to use for your five minute cleanse on your skin. If you want more light lotions that smell great for your skin, my favorites are from Bath and Body Works and Lush Cosmetics.

One of my favorites is from Lush Cosmetics and is called Sympathy for the  Skin. The smell of this lotion is great (it smells like bananas!) and it moisturizes my skin perfectly, so much so that I don’t need to do it every day. Handy Guru is another one from this company which is a little thick for my liking but it takes care of dry spots.

Almost anything from Bath and Body Works is great for me as long as it doesn’t have an overwhelming  smell or is thick.

You are the best form of judgment when it comes to your skin because everyones skin type is different. But if you have dry skin, go for something that is very moisturizing and will give your skin ways to breath.
